I did a research on existing products and opened another radio which was digital and has the functions of an alarm, LED light and projector. I think that from the research and the product autopsies, I have learnt about the placement of the inner components.
For the development, I explored on a variety of textures and patterns which I think is interesting, some of which I drew, and some of which I found in the internet. My eyes are drawn to particularly the criss cross pattern, as it makes such a simple effect.
On to the next step, these are the iterations and the chosen iterative sketches. I think that at this stage, I have a clear idea of what I want my product to be like, and I have also lowered down the choices for the patterns that I might be using.
